Sorry, but I've turned into a horrible blogger. I've found that I do so much writing at work that I simply don't want to do any more when I'm out of the office. This blog used to be a nice release for me but now it feels like a chore I keep putting off doing.
I'll still write here and there but not regularly, unfortunately. Judging from my lack of comments, my readers (if I have any) won't mind too much.

Just to update you, things are okay. My personal life is great as I am still madly in love with Brian. Professional life still needs a little help. I need a new full-time gig because I'm getting a little too old for the two jobs deal. I'm tired a lot and feel like I never really get a day off. It's frustrating because it makes seeing friends and family difficult. I'm also coming to the realization that after 4.5 years at the bar, I'm not really getting anywhere. I'm under appreciated and nothing there really changes. It's not fun anymore and that stinks.
Oh well. I'll get over it and move on. I hope all of you are doing well and I'll try to talk soon.

Our trip to St. Petersburg and beyond.
Yes, that was me at Tropicana Field.
If you were watching the Red Sox/Devil Rays game last Monday night, you may have seen a certain local sports editor beaming with overwhelming happiness after being asked to display her sign to the NESN audience at home. Within seconds of appearing on TV, my phone was flooded with calls and texts from friends and family back in Mass. telling me they just saw me on the old tube.
I’ve made several signs over this Sox season, but had little success getting NESN’s attention. Well that got considerably easier when my boyfriend Brian and I purchased seats directly to the right of the Sox dugout in Tampa Bay. The camera guys were next to the dugout and caught my sign. After being told I had to add Don Orsilo’s name to my poster (I guess he gets a little touchy about one’s that just mention the Rem Dawg), the camera guy—Rich—put me on just before the start of the sixth inning.
Unfortunately, Brian picked the wrong time to visit the loo.
For me, this was game number six in a visiting park. It was Brian’s first. We had been planning a trip to Florida to visit his sister, Julie, who lives in the Bradenton area with her husband Christian. We were considering two different weeks to stay on St. Pete’s Beach, one of which had the added incentive of the Red Sox being in town just over the bridge in Tampa.
Needless to say, our decision was an easy one.
Red Sox 6, Tampa Bay 0 – Monday, Aug. 20
While I had been no stranger to visiting parks, it was my first time seeing a game in a dome stadium. I had mixed feelings entering the complex but once inside and away from the 97-degree heat, I immediately saw the need for the dome.
After pre-gaming at Ferg’s, a great local sports pub that’s been in the area since the 1970s, we made our way to our seats. Ticketmaster’s seat maps gave me a rough idea of where I expect us to end up but five rows from the field with aisle seats that look directly into the Sox dugout were nothing I anticipated.
Next to us was a pair of Devil Rays fans (yes there were some). Jeff and Greg are season ticket holders who purchased a 20-game pack that guarantees them at least four “premium” games (i.e. Red Sox and Yankees). Great guys who put up very well with the throngs of Sox fans in attendance.
Old reliable Tim Wakefield was on the mound for Boston and in him was a pitcher who was 18-2 against the Rays and 8-0 at the Trop. He made it 9-0 with a dominant performance, allowing just five hits and one walk over seven innings of work in a 6-0 shutout.
The game was over in a cool two hours, 26 minutes and we were left hungry for more. So Brian and I ventured out to the ticket office to buy seats for Tuesday night so we could take Julie and Christian. What’d we get? Four seats together, four rows from the Sox bullpen for $152. “Is that for four?” Brian said in disbelief. “Yes,” the ticket agent replied. “We’re trying to keep it a secret down here,” he joked.
We made our way back to Ferg’s and ran into Rich and the rest of the cameramen who were on hand to shoot the game that night. Again, we thanked them profusely for giving me my 15 seconds of fame and then picked up their tab. The guys were delighted to hear we would be back in the Trop the next night.

Screw Shamrock Idol!
So, I told you all I had entered this Shamrock Idol contest and just missed the cut to the next round. Well, I ended up backing into another singing contest last week and long story short, I WON!!
Here's a brief explanation: Toucher & Rich are absolutely hysterical radio DJ's out here in Boston. They do the afternoon show on WBCN weekdays and are a freakin riot! They are essentially grown up frat boys with funny contests, firey tempers, and loveable sidekicks like Adolfo Gonzales (a 300-pound hispanic 21-year-old who's not exactly the brightest bulb) and Crash Clark (a 40-something walking disaster). Needless to say, I'm obsessed with the show.
So, they had advertised this Heavy Metal Karaoke night a few times. I heard about one a while back but couldn't make it. Then all last week they were advertising the next one at none other than "The Bell in Hand" aka the bar I work at. So I decided to go.
Really, I had just planned on going to take in the scene. As I said before, the guys are pretty darn funny and the "Tards" (people who listen to their show) are just as amusing. I like to sing, duh, but was turned off by the "heavy metal" aspect of the contest. Well, after a half hour, I noticed some people weren't singing heavy metal songs so I decided to check out the band's list.
Sure enough, there was No Doubt's "Just a Girl", a song I loved during the college years and had sung at least twice before. The thought of performing it with a live band in front of a huge crowd got me all pumped, so I signed up. Fifteen minutes later I was on stage, rocking the room.
Honestly, I flubbed some of the words in the middle of the song, but I got back on track and closed it very strongly. The guys from the show (many of whom I had already introduced myself to and chatted with) were really digging my performance because I was getting the crowd going and singing pretty dang well at the same time.
Half an hour later, they called up three finalists: Me, the only other girl who sang, and Gunner, a Tard to the highest degree. It was crowd vote and it came down to me and Gunner. With a roar from the crowd, I was announced the winner!!
So what did I win? Oh, just a super cool $350 Palm Treo phone and a trip to the second round of competition. I had to pay to enter Shamrock Idol and all I got was a crummy T-shirt!! This contest was free, WAY more fun, and I won!! So screw Shamrock Idol!!

Cutest kid ever!
So I visited with my lovely little (sort of) niece, Taylor, and her momma, Beth, last night. As you can see, she's getting so big!! Turning into a little lady right before my eyes. She's so darn cute it kills me.
She's starting to talk and form sentences. Yesterday, I thought I might catch her first solo steps on video, but the little one just wouldn't try it on her own. She'd clutch fingers or furniture or push around her little chair like a walker, but didn't step alone. She'll get it. She's right there!!
Anyway, Beth is preggers again. Five months in and looking great. She's turning into a pro really.
~~~~~~~
Afterwards, I went back to Southie to meet roommie Jill and we headed off to watch our friend's band play in Allston. They rocked, of course, and good times were had by all.
~~~~~~~
Not up to much this weekend. Working Friday night and Saturday night at the bar. Hopefully, I'll catch some rays at the beach Sunday!
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Oooh, did I strike a nerve?
Wow. Where have all you people been? Just like in the newspaper business, you only get comments when you write something negative. Kind of funny, actually.
Anyway, let me start by thanking you all for reading and commenting. But let me follow up by saying it's very apparent that some of you have never worked behind a bar. After working four days in a row slinging beers, some of this stuff just couldn't go without saying. (Oh, and I actually forgot one: Say the liquor first when ordering a drink. It's captain and diet. Not diet coke and captain).
I think a lot of you got the wrong idea. I don't think I'm high and mighty. I'm a freakin bartender. My argument was that I'm a good one and it's annoying when people are either too dumb to realize they've received great service or too cheap to tip accordingly. I don't have to ask/beg for tips. I make plenty of money (a ton, actually) working my personality behind the bar. When I work dayshifts, I thrive on this. I love having my whole room going. I love when people say they were just coming in for one and then sit with me the entire day. I've even had groups of out-of-towners come back the next day to sit with me again. It's a great compliment and it's one of the main reasons I love bartending.
My previous post was directed at a select group. Those kids who have just turned legal and think beers should be as cheap as they are when they come in a case. I agree with you, but that's just not how it is. Our place raised prices on domestic bottles from $4 to $4.25, which I think is far too much for a Bud. All I'm saying is don't take it out on your bartender.
Those of you who had time to "smile and push through it" obviously didn't work in a high volume establishment. When I work upstairs in the club area, that's all you get. People hanging over the bar that want their drinks fast. That's what I do and I do it well. I'm lucky to work at a place in Boston where the staff is among the best I've ever seen. They are attentive and fast and fun, a rare combination. In a busy environment we provide good service if we remember what you're drinking, remember the name on your tab, etc. Patrons love this and thank us profusely and then proceed to leave $3 on a $30 tab. What the heck is that? It's just not right and it makes things frustrating.
We're there to make money, plain and simple. And verbal tips don't pay the rent.

Hey moron, read this please!
If you've ever been to a busy bar and tried to order a drink, please read this. I've actually been meaning to write this post for some time but just haven't gotten around to it until now. But after working four shifts in a row at the Bell this past weekend, I couldn't put it off any longer.
Consider this a free lesson on how to order a drink in a bar without pissing off the bartender. We'll call it Bar etiquette 101:
1) Don't whistle, frantically wave, or just blurt your order out if I'm in your area. Odds are I already see you, but until I acknowledge you, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!
2) When I do come over to you make sure you have your order ready. There's nothing I hate more than when I'm on the go, ask what you'd like, and then see the back of your head because your asking your friends what they want. Newsflash: I'm already gone when you do that.
3) Have your money ready. This is something you can be doing when I'm getting your order. You should have it ready for me when I return. Don't leave me standing there while you fish through every single $1 bill in your wallet. Hand me a $20 and be done with it!!
4) If you do give me a credit card OPEN A TAB!! I can't tell you how many times I've had to run a card for one $4 beer, "it's the last time, I swear." If we're running your card three times, we're not making money and that annoys bartenders. If you're getting more than one round of drinks, open a tab. We're not your personal ATM. If you don't want to leave your card, pay cash or get some from the real ATM and pay with that.
5) Don't call me sweatheart, baby, honey, sugar, doll, darlin, babe, dollface, beautiful or any other name besides my own. Those who I like enough to tell, I will. Otherwise just get my attention by standing patiently at the bar or having your money out if I'm busy. I'll spot you a lot better this way. I'll ignore you otherwise.
6) Tip according to service. If we're good, show us on the dotted line. I'm so sick of getting tips that stink just because you pay with a credit card and want it to be an even withdrawl. OR you don't like the prices and you take it out on us. Example: $18.75 for the order, you write $1.25 for the tip. Ridiculous. If the service was bad, you have every right not to tip. But don't blame us for the prices of the items. We don't make them and it's not fair to punish us. If you don't want to tick off your bartender, tip accordingly. Because trust me, we remember you and it will be pretty hard to get a drink from us again if you ain't showing the love with some paper!!
That's all I've got right now, but I'm sure there's more. Long story short, just be an adult. We're working hard and we'll get to you when we can. There's ways for us to get to you sooner and they're all listed above. Take these rules out for a little test spin this weekend and see how you do. Guarantee you'll get served ahead of everyone else.
Thank you and good night.

Falling just short.
So I didn't make it. But I was close.
At last Thursday's Shamrock Idol contest I finished 10th out of 35 singers and I think that's pretty dang good. It was upsetting to come so close to advancing (they take the top 8 to the second round) but I still am pretty proud of myself. I had a great turnout with friends and family all showing up to lend their support and I never could've gotten through it without them!!
The contest was very much like you see on TV's American Idol. There were three judges, seated at a table directly in front of the stage. Each of them commented on my performance immediately after. I got all positive feedback, which was great, but I got the impression they wanted a little more range from me. I sang Brass in Pocket, which they all said was a perfect song choice for my voice. One judge credited me for really understanding my vocal range and wished he could say the same for everyone else. He was like the Simon Cowell of the three, so it was good feedback. This was the same judge who approached me after the results and suggested I come back and try again this week. I politely declined, saying I thought I did it right this time.
All in all, it was a great experience and I'm so glad I did it. I definitely had the biggest entourage and was a crowd favorite. All I really wanted to do was perform well and have fun doing it. And that I did.

Lady J sings.
So tonight begins my venture into the Shamrock Idol contest. This is a local singing competition that I entered last week and Round 1 starts tonight in Quincy at Bad Abbotts.
I'm pretty excited about it, but also a little nervous. I mean, I've been singing karaoke fairly regularly for more than a year and a half. But, this particular competition will be a little different. Here's why:
1) Band backup, no karaoke machine.
2) No monitor with words, so I gotta know them all.
3) Much bigger crowd than I'm used to.
4) Panel of three judges.
I've never sung with a band before so I'm a little worried about that. Plus, I don't know how well they'll know my songs. I want to sing "Brass in Pocket" because it's safe and I can rock it out. Hopefully, they'll know it.
I know all the words to the songs I sing, but having that monitor is like a little safety net. It will be strange not to be able to just peek over if I need a little reminder.
What will really help me is the crew that's coming out to support Lady J. I plan on just focusing on them and belt out my tune!!
Hopefully I'll have some video of my performance for y'all next week. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for Lady J and let's hope I make the second round!!

A great success.
So, how was everyone's 4th of July? Mine was truly great. Brian and I drove down to my Mom's in Rockland after work July 3rd to stay the night. We were slammed at the bar and the money was great. Got up around 9ish and reintroduced Brian to my Mom and he met my stepdad Charles. We took off for the Cape just after 10 a.m., checked into the hotel in Falmouth and then made our way over to my aunt and uncle's place in New Seabury.
Brian was a big hit here. After about an hour I was getting pulled aside everywhere by my aunts/uncles/cousins telling me how great he was and how lucky I was to have him. I could do nothing else but agree. I knew he was truly accepted when I talked to my Gramps, though. He put his arm around me and said, "You done good, kid." Again, I agreed!!
We grabbed a late bite to eat back in Falmouth and watched the fireworks from the dock at the Flying Bridge restaurant. Good times despite the rain. The next day we slept in a bit, and grabbed a nice brunch at Country Fair. We did some shopping in downtown Falmouth and then ventured up North to play mini-golf. Got rained on there, but not too bad.
From there it was back to the hotel to freshen up and have a nice dinner at Roo Bar, my fave place downtown. Then it was back up North for karaoke at Parrot Bar. I sang four songs that night and was a big hit. Funny because it was a mostly country-crowd. Heck, even the karaoke guy (Scott) was dressed like Tim McGraw!! His partner was certainly no Faith Hill, though.
Good times!! Had to drive back up on Friday afternoon because I had to work at the bar. Boooooooo!! All in all it was a great couple of days!! Can't wait for our next mini-break!!

Happy 4th of July!
Hello all. So, I'm about an hour and a half away from leaving the office for the remainder of the week. That would be completely fabulous if I didn't have to work at the bar tonight. But alas, such is my life.
Anyway, after tonight, it's a little mini-vaca time with Brian and my family. My aunt and uncle have a great house down on the Cape and we're visiting with them tomorrow. Brian and I got a hotel in Falmouth and will spend an extra day down there together. It's going to be a great couple of days. Tomorrow's going to be rough because we'll be so tired but oh well.
He's meeting the extended family for the first time so I'm pretty excited about that. Haven't really felt like bringing anyone home over the last few years so it's nice to have someone I feel is worth introducing to my family. Good times.
Well, have fun whatever you are all doing this 4th of July!! Enjoy!!

Finally!!
Meet Brian. My fella.
How I was so blessed to have found him is beyond me, but I couldn't be happier that he's mine. Thankfully, he feels the same way about me.
Brief background: We'd been pining after each other for about a year, but only recently became an item. We've been going strong for two and a half months and there's no end in sight.
Reasons he's so great (in no particular order):
-He's the nicest, most thoughtful person I know.
-He knows how I like my coffee, drink of choice, and fave beverage.
-He buys me flowers and cards just because.
-He's intelligent AND funny (not a lot of guys are both).
-He's open and honest about everything.
-He makes me feel like the best girl in the room wherever we are.
-He says sweet things to me.
-He visits his grandfather on a regular basis.
-He's not afraid to call me out on things.
-He's a teacher and he's great at his job.
-Let's be honest, he's a hunk.
-Somehow, he has me believing in happily ever after.
So those are the ABC's of us. We are so happy and it's so great to be in a real relationship with someone I actually care about. I was in a rut for a while, looking for guys in all the wrong places.
Finally, I got it right.

Back on track.
After months of not paying attention to how to correctly update my blogger account, I've finally done it!! Back on track.
I can't believe I've been away for two months. Not like I've had any compaints, so I guess it's cool. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and try to keep posting.
Just got back from a visit with one of my favorite Bloggers, the lovely miss Melati. We had a blast of a weekend and she gave me the royal treatment. Took care of me all weekend long. It was a great time and I can't thank her and Matt enough.
Started the week off in San Francisco for a four-day visit with my sister. Good times!! We did the mani-pedi thing and also drove in a Go Car, the funnest thing I've ever done. Check out the video on my MySpace page at www.myspace.com/ladyj1223
Well, that's all for now. Glad to be back!!

I've entered MySpace.
So, I’ve officially joined the MySpace world. I’m almost ashamed to admit it because I’ve been so anti-MySpace since its inception a few years back. I guess I just thought it was a place people went to try to hook up and I’m sure that’s the case with most pages. But like it or not, it really is a good way to stay in touch with people, particularly your friends.
I know people read my blog, but it’s frustrating that I get so little feedback. It seems EVERYONE is on MySpace, including many of my friends. Because of this, it just seems it might be easier to tell my stories and keep everyone posted on my life through MySpace blogs. I will still have a link to this page, hopefully generating more interest in my blog page, and will try to maintain it as best I can. But for those of you who want to continue to read about me, check out my MySpace page at: www.myspace.com/ladyj1223 I guess you have to ask to be my friend or something and if I know you, you’re in!!
This is my MySpace picture. My roommie Jill took it inside a bathroom stall at the club Mansion last Friday night. (If you saw this bathroom, you would have taken a glamour shot in there too!! The wallpaper was so cool, although, you can’t tell that from this picture!!). Anyway, there was an after-party at Mansion featuring Danity Kane, who opened up for Christina Augilera at the Garden that night. Jill, Jackie, Jackie’s sister Bobbi, and myself all attended the kick-ass show!! God damn that girl can sing!! Love her!!
Anyway, that’s it for now. Hope all is well.

St. Patty's Day Parade, I love you!
So this is me and some of the crew from the Bell on St. Patty's Day Parade Day in Southie!! After leaving my party for the day, we sauntered down to our friend Jen's. All I can say are some girls cannot hold their liquor. We get there and there's a girl passed out on the couch. Seconds later two of them are throwing blows!! My party was slightly more reserved!!
Anyway, I'm wearing a fireman's jacket because I happened to find it laying around. Tisk, tisk!! We took some pictures with it and I folded it up and waited for the guy it belonged to to look aimlessly for it. 20 minutes later he was thrilled to see me hand it over. (I guess it's like the Navy boys and their hats. They get in trouble if they lose them!!).
From here, we tried to get into the bars, but no dice. Everyone was CLOSING at 7 p.m. If that's any indication of how drunk people were. So, we hopped in a cab and went to neighboring Dorchester and "The Banshee", an Irish bar with an Irish band that was packed!! I've never done so much stomping in my life. Aparently, we all thought we could jig!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Best party guest of the day? Beth. Yup, Taylor's mom came up huge!! Not only did she come armed with beads for us to throw down at parade marchers, but she also brought flasks of Jameson and Bailey's AND McDonald's cheeseburgers!! Avoid the hangover before it happens with some McD's!! Oh, it was the best!!
NOLA, we love you!!
So now, I'm not dead. I've just been in New Orleans for the past four days. Me, Danielle, Meri, Nicole, and Nadalee took off for the Big Easy on Sunday morning and had four days of fun!!
There are far too many stories to tell for me to tell them all, but I'll try to update you through pictures. In this one, I'm kissing my Bourbon Street beads (that I purchased, not earned) while donning my very first cowgirl hat!!
This was day one of the trip, roughly three hours into it. Essentially, the trip was non-stop and when we got back home late Wednesday night, we were beat.
But we love you NOLA!! We had a blast and can't wait until we see you again!!
Fat Tuesday, you're evil!
So, this is what happens when you go out on Fat Tuesday with a bunch of other bartenders. You end up trying to make your best Angelina Jolie face and take a picture of yourself doing it!!!
Those of you who I forwarded my Fat Tuesday album to were lucky enough to have seen the progression my friends and I went through that night. We went from trying to look pretty to trying to look just plain ugly!! I swear, I looked at the pics the next morning...yes, because I, unlike the rest of them, had to get up and go to work...and I didn't even remember taking half of them!!
It was the first time in a long time I had a blackout moment and I suddenly realized: God, I'm too old for this. The text messages they all sent me at 1 and 2 p.m. didn't help either.
"Man, I just got out of bed. I don't know how you went to work."
That was what the jist of them said. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled to hear they had just got up while I was putting together my third sports section of the day!!!
Bitter? No, I'm not bitter. I had a great time and it was worth feeling like I'd been runover by a mack truck the next day. But next time, I think I'm going to give them all a friendly wake-up call when I have to get up the next morning!! Yeah, that's fair!!
To the two nice men who helped me this afternoon: Thank you so much!!
In case you are unaware, Boston is laying on a big, ridiculous sheet of ice. Everything is frozen. The water, the snow. Everything. It's been sunny, but it's so incredibly cold that nothing is melting. Essentially, to get into any parking spot on the street you have to back up over a mound of ice to get into it. I tried to do that today and failed...miserably.
So, I back into the spot but as I try to complete the second phase of my parallel parking attempt I realize I'm stuck!! I can't move forward or backward because my wheels are spinning and spinning and spinning on a sheet of ice. There's nothing I can do.
Fortunately, these two nice guys walking past me offered their assistance. One placed a couple stones under my front tire, then they both pushed. Seconds later, I was free!!
So again, thank you so much for your help. I could have been stuck there for hours had it not been for you both.
Is is March yet?
...I ask because that's when I'm going to New Orleans for a much-needed vacation. No? Not March yet? Damn!!
Anyway, things have been okay. Here's a brief rundown of my life over the last week:
- Saw Justin Timberlake perform at the Garden.
- Split with John because we weren't seeing enough of each other.
- Worked, worked, worked.
- Drank, drank, drank.
- Rocked the karaoke stage at The Chuck with roommie Jill (aka Red, see photo).
- Had a guy over just to "hang out" and now he's obsessed with me.
- Watched the Celtics finally win a game.
- Am slap-stick happy now that the Red Sox are in Spring Training.
Oh the life of a single, working stiff never gets dull does it!! So what's on tap this week? Well, more of the same. Working all three nights this weekend because of the "holiday". (Honestly, President's Day is for buying cars, not going out drinking!!). That's about it. Hope your weekend is better than mine!!
Happy belated Heart Day!! Thanks to my valentine, Jackie, my BFF, for going out with me last night. Good times!!
Suspicious packages part of Turner Broadcasting marketing campaign
By Mac Daniel and Andrew Ryan, Globe Staff
Turner Broadcasting acknowledged late this afternoon that the suspicious packages that ignited fears of bombs across Boston today were magnetic lights that were part of an outdoor marketing campaign for an adult cartoon.
Turner was promoting Adult Swim's animated television show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" in Boston and nine other cities, according to a statement e-mailed by Shirley Powell, a company spokeswoman.
"Parent company Turner Broadcasting is in contact with local and federal law enforcement on the exact locations of the billboards," the state an e-mail statement said. "We regret that they were mistakenly thought to pose any danger."
It's just ridiculous!
Seriously!! I mean how can someone be so darn cute!! She's just ridiculous!!
Obviously, I visited with Taylor this weekend. Stopped by Beth's yesterday afternoon to catch up and have a little dinner. Talyor continues to grow and is only getting cuter!! She's really into playing with her toys on her mat (see photo). Her favorite toy is in front of her. It plays lots of music to which she shakes her booty...literally. It's adorable.
Her first birthday is just a couple of months away and I can't believe it!! She's such a little lady already!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In other BTD news, John's been in Florida all weekend (lucky bastard!). Picked the perfect time to go because the day he left (Friday) was the coldest day of the year. While he was basking in 70-degree temps, I was freezing my butt off in single digits!!
It's been much milder since, thank God. Anyway, he gets back this afternoon. Hope he's not too tan!!

Damn Pats!!
Okay. This picture pretty much says it all. Yup, after dominating our hated rival Peyton Manning and the Colts in the first half of the AFC Championship Sunday night, the Pats choked in the second half, allowing the Colts to advance to the Super Bowl.
Now everyone's going to say that Peyton finally did it. He finally won the big game, gonig through the Pats to do so. I guess you gotta give it to him, but I really don't want to!! Call me a sore loser, like the Chargers!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Despite the loss, Sunday was an absolute blast. Met up with Danielle, Phil, Molly, Mark, and Aindria at the Cask n Flagon and got prime seating with Beth (mother of Taylor, of course). She took great care of us!! From there, it was Dockside. From there, it was Sissy K's for some karaoke. From there, it was Hennessey's to meet the rest of the Bell in Hand crew. From there, it was me and John at my place doing shots of Dr. until 4 a.m.
Needless to say, I called into work on Monday!! : )
Meet Dosher (my kinda dog)
I totally don't know if that's how you spell his name, but that's how it sounds. Anyway, this is Dosher. He's my rommate's boyfriend's new pooch and he's absolutely adorable. Now, I'm not really an animal person, but one look at this guy and I melted!! I'm already his favorite auntie, of course!!
Dan, roommie's boyfriend, bought him last weekend from some family in New Hampshire. He's already everything trained and is an absolute sweetie. For the first couple days in our apartment, he was very timid but he came out of his shell soon enough.
Don't ask me what kind of dog he is because I really don't know. I've been told, but I can't remember. All I know is he's super cute and doesn't shed! That's all I need to know, really!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will Pats/Colts on Sunday for the AFC Championship? Who wouldn't!! "Cut that meat," Baby!!

I'm neglectful. Sorry.
I know, I know, I know! I've been horrible about keeping up with my blog lately. There are many reasons why (i.e. Too busy, Can't post at work, Pats playoff games)!! Anyway, there's still no excuse.
Here's what's been going on. Big news? The Pats knocked off the "No. 1 team in the NFL" last night. It wasn't easy, but they did it. It was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. Not one you'd send to an instructional clinic (turnovers, turnovers, turnovers), but in the end, the Pats got the job done. Like they typically do at this time of year. Now, it's off to Indianapolis!! Cut that meat!! Cut that meat!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things with the boy are still going well. We're both really busy and have kind of opposite schedules. Haven't really been able to see each other too much lately. Hopefully, things will settle down a little bit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, that's all you're getting. 24's on!!! Jack's back, baby!!

Why I love my family.
So this is the Milano side of the family (mom's side) on Christmas Eve. Well, at least those of us who elected to wear Ugly Sweaters. The Westwood contingent was the most well represented with parents Vinny and Linda and two of the three kids, David and Michelle, sporting ugly frocks. Myself, mother Nancy, and sister Krissy also represented!!
Michelle (last on the right) was the winner, Krissy second, me third. The photo doesn't do the winning sweaters justice as Michelle's had a trio of goats with googly eyes, one of which was yellow, and Krissy an eye-catching sweater vest!!
~~~~~~~~~~~
In other BTD news, things with John are going really well. I'm surprised at how easy it's been. It's been tough to see each other during the week because of our hectic schedules, but the weekends have been great!!
I got a new man, Pats are still alive in the playoffs, and Spring Training is right around the corner.
All in all, good news for Lady J!!
