So this is me and some of the crew from the Bell on St. Patty's Day Parade Day in Southie!! After leaving my party for the day, we sauntered down to our friend Jen's. All I can say are some girls cannot hold their liquor. We get there and there's a girl passed out on the couch. Seconds later two of them are throwing blows!! My party was slightly more reserved!!
Anyway, I'm wearing a fireman's jacket because I happened to find it laying around. Tisk, tisk!! We took some pictures with it and I folded it up and waited for the guy it belonged to to look aimlessly for it. 20 minutes later he was thrilled to see me hand it over. (I guess it's like the Navy boys and their hats. They get in trouble if they lose them!!).
From here, we tried to get into the bars, but no dice. Everyone was CLOSING at 7 p.m. If that's any indication of how drunk people were. So, we hopped in a cab and went to neighboring Dorchester and "The Banshee", an Irish bar with an Irish band that was packed!! I've never done so much stomping in my life. Aparently, we all thought we could jig!!

Best party guest of the day? Beth. Yup, Taylor's mom came up huge!! Not only did she come armed with beads for us to throw down at parade marchers, but she also brought flasks of Jameson and Bailey's AND McDonald's cheeseburgers!! Avoid the hangover before it happens with some McD's!! Oh, it was the best!!

NOLA, we love you!!
So now, I'm not dead. I've just been in New Orleans for the past four days. Me, Danielle, Meri, Nicole, and Nadalee took off for the Big Easy on Sunday morning and had four days of fun!!
There are far too many stories to tell for me to tell them all, but I'll try to update you through pictures. In this one, I'm kissing my Bourbon Street beads (that I purchased, not earned) while donning my very first cowgirl hat!!
This was day one of the trip, roughly three hours into it. Essentially, the trip was non-stop and when we got back home late Wednesday night, we were beat.
But we love you NOLA!! We had a blast and can't wait until we see you again!!

Fat Tuesday, you're evil!
So, this is what happens when you go out on Fat Tuesday with a bunch of other bartenders. You end up trying to make your best Angelina Jolie face and take a picture of yourself doing it!!!
Those of you who I forwarded my Fat Tuesday album to were lucky enough to have seen the progression my friends and I went through that night. We went from trying to look pretty to trying to look just plain ugly!! I swear, I looked at the pics the next morning...yes, because I, unlike the rest of them, had to get up and go to work...and I didn't even remember taking half of them!!
It was the first time in a long time I had a blackout moment and I suddenly realized: God, I'm too old for this. The text messages they all sent me at 1 and 2 p.m. didn't help either.
"Man, I just got out of bed. I don't know how you went to work."
That was what the jist of them said. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled to hear they had just got up while I was putting together my third sports section of the day!!!
Bitter? No, I'm not bitter. I had a great time and it was worth feeling like I'd been runover by a mack truck the next day. But next time, I think I'm going to give them all a friendly wake-up call when I have to get up the next morning!! Yeah, that's fair!!

To the two nice men who helped me this afternoon: Thank you so much!!
In case you are unaware, Boston is laying on a big, ridiculous sheet of ice. Everything is frozen. The water, the snow. Everything. It's been sunny, but it's so incredibly cold that nothing is melting. Essentially, to get into any parking spot on the street you have to back up over a mound of ice to get into it. I tried to do that today and failed...miserably.
So, I back into the spot but as I try to complete the second phase of my parallel parking attempt I realize I'm stuck!! I can't move forward or backward because my wheels are spinning and spinning and spinning on a sheet of ice. There's nothing I can do.
Fortunately, these two nice guys walking past me offered their assistance. One placed a couple stones under my front tire, then they both pushed. Seconds later, I was free!!
So again, thank you so much for your help. I could have been stuck there for hours had it not been for you both.

Is is March yet?
...I ask because that's when I'm going to New Orleans for a much-needed vacation. No? Not March yet? Damn!!
Anyway, things have been okay. Here's a brief rundown of my life over the last week:
- Saw Justin Timberlake perform at the Garden.
- Split with John because we weren't seeing enough of each other.
- Worked, worked, worked.
- Drank, drank, drank.
- Rocked the karaoke stage at The Chuck with roommie Jill (aka Red, see photo).
- Had a guy over just to "hang out" and now he's obsessed with me.
- Watched the Celtics finally win a game.
- Am slap-stick happy now that the Red Sox are in Spring Training.
Oh the life of a single, working stiff never gets dull does it!! So what's on tap this week? Well, more of the same. Working all three nights this weekend because of the "holiday". (Honestly, President's Day is for buying cars, not going out drinking!!). That's about it. Hope your weekend is better than mine!!
Happy belated Heart Day!! Thanks to my valentine, Jackie, my BFF, for going out with me last night. Good times!!

Suspicious packages part of Turner Broadcasting marketing campaign
By Mac Daniel and Andrew Ryan, Globe Staff
Turner Broadcasting acknowledged late this afternoon that the suspicious packages that ignited fears of bombs across Boston today were magnetic lights that were part of an outdoor marketing campaign for an adult cartoon.
Turner was promoting Adult Swim's animated television show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" in Boston and nine other cities, according to a statement e-mailed by Shirley Powell, a company spokeswoman.
"Parent company Turner Broadcasting is in contact with local and federal law enforcement on the exact locations of the billboards," the state an e-mail statement said. "We regret that they were mistakenly thought to pose any danger."
